Please join us on Thursday, March 21, from noon to 1 pm in the Yosemite Classroom (1st floor of the Library) for “What’s My Research?” featuring Andrew Conklin (Composition and Music Theory), Michael Leonard (Art, Media and Performance Design), Eric Sonstroem (English), and Benjamin Zeitlin (Biomedical Sciences).The upcoming panel presentation is set to be an engaging exploration of Open Educational Resources (OER) which aims to provide a practical perspective into the research behind OER development and its implications for teaching and learning in a university setting.Andrew Conklin received summer stipends in 2022 and 2023 and has created a textbook containing a concise and flexible anthology of melodies for sight singing informed by contemporary pedagogical practices.Michael Leonard received summer stipends in 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023 and has created three textbooks on Beginning Drawing, Two-Dimensional Design and Color and two Art History texts covering the periods of prehistoric-Gothic and post-1400.Eric Sonstroem received summer stipends in 2021 and 2022 to create versions 1 and 1.1 of Pacific Writing!: College Writing for Pacific's Core 2 Seminar – which is used in all Core 2 seminars.Benjamin Zeitlin received a summer stipend in 2022 to compile a database of the top 200 drugs and their dental implications via Quizlet which allows students to reference the database for review as well as export flashcards for study.Interested in applying for your own Summer 2024 OER review, adoption, or creation?
